The Nursery is Complete!

We have completed out little nugget's sports-themed nursery! It was worth all the work, and Josh and I find ourselves being jealous of the baby's room.  Once we figure out what we are going to name the little guy, we will be putting his name on the pitcher's mound of the baseball diamond (which yes, we painted by hand...it was a measuring nightmare)! Enjoy the pictures!

Cabin Shower

Today was our little nugget's last baby shower.  We had a shower with our family's Gull Lake cabin friends. It was so much fun seeing all the lake ladies!  I don't think there is anything this little guy will need...we have been so blessed with countless gifts and well wishes!

Jansen Family Sports Shower

My sister-in-law Jocelyn and mother-in-law Gwen threw little Nouglas a sports-themed baby shower!  It was complete with sports-themed food and a delicious cake...such a fabulous idea!  It was so thoughtful of them to throw such an amazing shower.  I had a great time catching up with the Jansen family and friends.

Church Lady Shower

Below are a couple of pictures from my church lady shower.  My mom's amazing church friends from St. Stephen hosted such a special and thoughtful event.

30 Weeks!

We thought a belly shot was in order!  We can't believe how fast the time is flying!

Cornelia Elementary Baby Shower

Yesterday, the staff at my school threw me and 2 other lovely pregnant colleagues a baby shower! We had a great time celebrating all the upcoming arrivals.  Check out some of the pics below...

Here we are with the two other pregnant ladies at our school. We are all due within 4 weeks of each other!

British Baby Shower!

On Sunday my fabulous sisters and mom threw little Nouglas and me our first baby shower! It was a British themed shower complete with hats and fascinators. We all had such a great time! Check out some of the pics below...

28 Weeks-The Third Trimester Begins!

We can't believe how fast time is flying.  Nouglas will be here before we know it and we are so excited to finally meet him! Today we had an ultrasound and Nouglas is looking great.  He was in a pike position and both Josh and I are wondering where he is getting the flexibility from...clearly not either of us! He continues to be very active which is great!  He must get that from his Phy. Ed. teacher dad! Below is a picture we got today of his sweet little face with his hands on his cheeks.

6 Months!

This weekend we got together with the Have family and headed to the apple orchard as part of Josh's birthday celebration.  It was an especially good time since we had our niece Hadley and nephew Kellan with us. It was so fun seeing their reactions to all of the fun fall festivities...especially the petting zoo!  Below is a belly shot as well as an adorable shot of the twins playing in some hay.

Nuggy J's First Plane Ride

Nuggy J... aka Nouglas (like Douglas with a N) went on his first airplane ride!  My Luther girls and I headed to Fort Collins, Colorado to throw a baby shower for our dear friend Heather whose baby was due at the end of October.  Our timing couldn't have been more impeccable, because she had her baby while we were there!  Our baby shower turned into a birthday party for little Kieran Mark Landers!  He was born a little peanut but is doing well!  It was so great to have us all back together to celebrate such an amazing event! Below are some pictures from our trip! *Side note: When we found out that Nuggy J was a boy, Josh started calling him Nouglas.  It has since stuck so we are referring to the little guy as both Nuggy J and Nouglas.

It's a BOY!

Today was our 20 week ultrasound and we are so happy to announce that Nuggy J is a boy!  We are beyond excited and we both had a strong feeling that it was a boy.  We even bought some boy-themed nursery decorations last week.  Everything looks great and healthy with the baby and the little guy is measuring a week ahead in length (no surprise there!) :) Check out some of our ultrasound pictures below...

Here is a shot of his face with one little hand under his chin and the other in a fist.

Hiding his face and putting his "dukes" up.

18 Weeks!

We have been told by many family members to start getting some belly shots on the blog.  Here is a shot of both Josh and me at 18 weeks.  He felt that his sympathy eating also needed to be recognized. :) Only two more weeks until we find out if we are having a boy or girl!

Baby's First Pictures

Here are our 12 week ultrasound pictures.  The baby was moving like crazy and had a strong heart rate!

The baby's head is on the right. It's belly is the bump in the middle, and its legs are bent up on the left side of the picture.

Nuggy J is so relaxed that its legs are crossed in what the ultrasound technician called "the hammock position."  Although you can't tell from this angle, Nuggy J's hands were also neatly folded.

Nuggy J is on the Way!

Josh and I are happy to announce that we are expecting a little bundle of joy this January.  The official due date is January 11th.  We are so excited to meet the little nugget! We told our families about our exciting news around 11 weeks and then used our housewarming party to tell everyone else.  The picture is of the future nursery with our "surprise message" painted on the wall. This is how we let our guests in on the news at our housewarming party.  Needless to say, taking people on tours of the house was rather fun!  Thanks for all the well wishes we have received so far. We are so excited to begin this new chapter of our lives! Also, a final thanks to my dear sister Jen who came up with the baby's "in the belly name"..."Nuggy J." It stands for Nugget Jansen.  We love the name and use it to refer to the little guy/girl.  Disclaimer…Although the room is painted pink, we do not yet know whether we are having a boy or girl.  The room was that color when we bought the house...and will be changed regardless of the baby's gender :)
