18 Months & South Dakota Family Reunion

Today was Beckett's 18 Month doctor's appointment.  He weighed in at 35 pounds and 36 inches long! The doctor predicted that Beckett will be at least 6'4" but thinks he'll probably end up closer to 6'6"...As you can imagine, it was no surprise to us to hear he was going to be a tall boy. :) On another note, last weekend we had the Jansen family reunion in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  We ended up flying to Aberdeen, thus Beckett had his first plane ride!  He did great and we learned that the secret to a successful toddler flight is the iPad and lots of snacks! :) The reunion itself was great. It took place at Wylie Park/Storybook land which was a fun little amusement park.  It was wonderful to spend time with the Jansen family.  Check out some pics...

A little pre-flight meal at the DQ airport.  He's dipping toast in honey mustard...hey, whatever works!

4th of July Oooooohh.....

It has been way too long since our last post, but we are back!  The last few months have been great!  Josh and I have the best summer schedule EVER...we get to hang out with Beckett 24/7! We spent a week at the cabin for the 4th of July, and had a great time.  Beckett loves the cabin just as much as we do, which is awesome.  We are looking forward to many more fun cabin times this summer!

 First tube ride with daddy!

One of our favorite quirks that Beckett has is that when he sees something new or exciting or something he likes (especially food) he "oooohhhhs!"  It is truly the most endearing little thing, and we have been meaning to catch it on film for months.  We finally got two good videos...both "food ooohs" of course.

First Batting Practice & First Haircut!

It has been an exciting week for Beckett.  This past weekend he got an early Easter present...his first t-ball set!  I bet you can guess who picked it out :).  Daddy was very excited to have Beckett's first "batting practice."  It is definitely his new favorite toy.  As an added bonus...he can now say ball, bat, and tee! Another exciting event happened yesterday; Beckett's first haircut!  He was especially lucky because his Titi Jin cut his hair.  You'll see from the pictures below that Beckett was less than thrilled; however, Titi Jin showed her pro skills by getting the cut done lightning fast...and it looks amazing!  He looks so grown up with his little boy coif! Thanks Titi Jin!

Looking real woolly pre-cut...

 This isn't so bad...

Wait, I take that back...what's going on?

 Hey...

OK, this isn't so bad...I can do this!

The results are in...amazing!

One Year and a Month

Our little man is a mover and a talker!  He is picking up something new every day!  Although they are a lot of work, one year olds are SO MUCH FUN!  Check out some recent pics and a video below of our boy learning new things and looking so grown up!

Beckett's First Birthday!

Where has the last year gone?  Everyone told us that the first year would go fast, but we can't believe that Beckett is one year old!  This last year has truly been the best year of our lives!  We can't wait for many more amazing times with our precious little boy!  Enjoy some pics below of the birthday festivities!

On Beckett's actual birthday (January 16th) we felt that we had to do something special, so we took him to a frozen yogurt bar.  He LOVED it and I'm sure there will be many more trips to Freeziac in the future.

What's that?!  I want it!

The first bite...

 A happy customer!

The 1st Birthday Party
We had a cookie monster themed brunch for Beckett's party. We felt so blessed that so many family and friends could come to celebrate Beckett's special day!

The decorations and food...

The guest of honor!

Here are some of the photos of Beckett opening some of his gifts.  Luckily he had some help from mom and his cousins Hadley and Kellan.  He received way too many gifts...such a spoiled little nugget!

All the kids were WAY into this gift...a toddler trampoline from Nana and Boompa.  They couldn't even wait for it to be assembled before jumping on it!
Beck's was and remains completely obsessed with his trampoline!

The only family picture we got...too much fun was being had to stop and pose :)

The big moment...cupcake time!

Happy Birthday Becks!  We love you to pieces!
